Sam sat in the corner at a small table, a sketchbook in front of him. He had pencils lying all over the table, all of them a different shade of gray. The picture was of the person at the register, a tall, young man with messy black hair and red stud earrings. He looked bored behind the counter, but in the picture Sam drew him with a small smile on his face. He still looked bored in the picture as well, but it made him look nicer.
(We might have it as open later, depending on whether we have anything to post)

Lydia walked dazed into the shop. There were a couple guys in the shop, the one behind the counter and the one at a table, but other than that, the shop was empty. She let her mind wander as she slowly stepped forward, and she ended up just standing in the middle of the coffee shop, staring at the ceiling.

Sam watched a girl enter the shop. She had short white hair and she looked dazed. She stopped in the middle of the shop staring at the ceiling. He stood and took a few steps toward her, but stopped himself. He could smell that she was a vampire. If he got to close, he might accidentally touch her and that wouldn't be a good scene. The guy behind the register stared at her curiously. "Are you okay, Miss?" he asked.

Lydia blinked out of her daydream. She was a little upset because she had been interrupted at the part where her prince was slaying the dragon. She stared for another moment, before a sweet smile spread across her thin lips. "Oh, yes. Terribly sorry, sir. I can't seem to focus for more than a moment now."

Sam saw the guy nod, then go into the back room. He couldn't understand what this girl was doing. He looked into her memories briefly, seeing that she was remembering a daydream she was having. "Strange," he said to himself, although he said it as if he were talking to her. Then he turned around and sat back at his table. He flipped his sketchbook to a fresh page and began drawing the girl.

Lydia let her curious eyes wander to the other boy at the table. She smiled warmly at him. "Most people do call me strange." she commented. "But it doesn't bother me."
(Her voice sounds like Luna's from Harry Potter, btw)

Sam looked up. "I didn't call you strange, I was talking about something else." It was partly true. He looked back down at the sketchbook. He had just finished her hair and he began drawing her eyes.

Lydia watched him curiously for a moment. "Mind if I watch?" she asked him. "Your quite talented at drawing."

Sam nodded. "Go ahead, I don't mind." He remembered Alexei's sketch in his apartment. He started shading her eyes. And soon enough, he had gotten it done. He did a few finishing touches, shaded the parts he missed, and set his pencil down. His hands were almost black on the outer sides. He grabbed the rest of his pencils and lined them up lightest to darkest. "You want it?" he asked, looking at her.

Lydia sat down, and she watched his hands make the precise movements of her face shape. She watched as the daydreaming her came to life. And she smiled. "Oh no, I couldn't. You drew it, you should keep it. BUt I must say, your amazing at drawing."

Sam nodded and openned his bag, taking out an overflowing folder labeled "People" and putting the two sketches--the one of the girl and the one of the guy behind the counter--inside. He stuffed it back inside his bag, along with the pencils and sketchbook. He had ordered a cup of black coffee when he first arrived. It sat untouched against the wall. Sam put down a dollar tip next to it. "I'm going to head out. I need more things to sketch." He stood and started toward the door. But he turned around and smiled lightly at her. "I'm Sam, by the way. It was nice meeting you Lydia." He turned back toward the door and left the small shop, but stopped outside and leaned against the brick wall.

Lydia was caught off guard and she sat there for a minute. Had she mentioned her name? She thought, but going through the short period of time, her name had never come up. She sat there, thinking about his scent. She got up and raced outside. "How-" she started and she noticed him against the wall. "Your a vampire aren't you? ANd your power is to know my name?" she asked quietly, suddenly conscious off all the humans floating around.

Sam turned and glared at her. "You wanna go back inside and talk? Because that's fine with me. Maybe I can explain things better without..." He made a gesture at the people walking around on the sidewalks. "It might make things easier."

Lydia smiled sheepishly, and opened the door to the shop again. "THat'd be logical, of course."

He walked back into the shop, heading straight toward the table at the back.
