Kayla didn't say anymore, instantly obeying her. She usually obeyed what others told her, but she also stayed quiet because she was getting quite dizzy. She watched the forest pass by in a blurr and held her head with her good arm, well, only arm.

More familiar with the forest, Shizuko was able to slow down and use the shortcuts she knws. But, the incessant bootsteps of her huntress never left her. Aza stayed right behind them, allowing them to move ahead, and drawing painfully near once they got comfortable. Through a well hidden shortcut, Shizuko finally lost her. It felt like an eternity entering the Cave, crossing the intricate maze that had been carved into it's interior to keep those who did not belong out, and finally sliding down the shute, that led to the Tunnel, that led to the mammoth cavern of the Cave of Rain.
"Ulee!" her voice rang out like a sharp peal of bells. It wasn't terribly late, just 10 pm. Ulee was in the kitchen and Rain, Jared and a few others around the living room area. "Ulee! Please heal her!" she sobbed. Her legs gave way under her. Ah, she couldn't take it anymore. Someone's storng arms lifted the burden that weighted her arms like iron. She felt so light... but, her throat was parched something terrible. Maybe... maybe Ulee would share some brownies and milk with her when she woke up. He was always ever so kind... like a big brother.

Kayla was ever so grateful to stop moving and she closed her eyes for a moment. Unfortunately, she was soon being lifted up again. She blinked open her blue eyes and stared up at the boy who lifted her. The only thing Kayla was worried about, though, was the girl who had carried her here, rather than her missing arm. "Is she.. she okay?"

Ulee looked down as the pallid girl spoke with the faintest whisper. "Shizuko?" he smiled reassuringly, his eyes relfecting his worry, "She'll be perfectly fine. Just exhausted. Would you like me t send her to you when she's rested?" He saw her small nod, and her eyes drifted shut again. Ulee hated to admit it, but he saw little hope for this girl. She had lost enormous amounts of blood, and furthermore, the wound seemed to have a sort of sickly sweet poison that was already starting to blacken the edges of the gaping hole where her arm used to go.
He set off to work right away. Taking a cot in the infirmary, he began to heal her. Before he began to Time retraction, he snipped off pieces of the blackened skin. then, placing his two hands on her shoulder, not quite touching but clearly over it, he seeked for a specific time, and began to rewind it.
Since she had no past without her arm, he could only remove the poison. To heal her arm, well, he would have to do it the old fashioned way. He worked, giving her painkillers, disinfecting the wound, applying salve and finally dressing it.
he sat back on a simple wooden chair, admiring his neat handiwork. "If she passes through to dawn, she might have a chance." he told Shizuko, who had arrived while he had been working. rain and Jared had tended to her lesser injuries. Cuts and scrapes.
"She'll make it." said Shizuko. It wasn't a hopeful statement, but a fact as she saw it.

Kayla was passed out for most of the healing, and it was probably a good thing for everyone. Although Kayla was not squeamish, Ulee would probably dislike it if Kayla was watching his every move. Soon after he had finished, Kayla's eyes started to flutter open. She gave a tiny yawn and turned her gaze to Ulee. "It... It doesn't hurt." she told him.

Removing his reading glasses ((Isnt that so cute?!)) Ulee put down the book he was reading and smiled. "That's because the morphine's still in effect. I couldn't heal your wound with Time since you had no past with it, so it'll have to heal at a natural pace. In a few hours you might feel it, but that's a good sign. If you don't feel it then be worried." he laughed. Getting up, he walked over to a cot next to Kayla's and shook the small dark figure curled in the white blankets. "Shizuko, wake up. It's dawn and..." he smiled, relief suffusing his features, "and Kayla's awake."
Her large eyes fluttered open, still glazed with sleep. But, hearing his words, she shot up, wiping the sleep from her eyes and looking at Kayla in a wondering way.

((Adorable !!! ^.^))
Kayla looked over to Shizuko, her head tilting slightly. "T-thank you, for bringing me here." she told her. "You s-saved me." she added. She then turned her head to gaze at Ulee. "And t-thank you, Ulee." she continued. "You really didn't have to do all of that."

he waved a hand, dismissing her apolagies in mid-air. "Don't thank me. Any vampire in this Coven would have helped you to the extent of his or her abilities. And what? You expected me to watch you bleed to death?" he laughed.
Shizuko smiled at Kayla, "No problem," she mouthed quietly.
"Besides, once you're part of our Coven, you're part of our family."

Kayla felt her face turn red. Never before had anyone told her she was part of any sort of family. She couldn't help but smile and reach out her arm for his hand. "No one... Has e-ever said such things before." she whispered.

Ulee smiled kindly. Sometime the greatest gift wasn't a car or a house, but simply acceptence and companionship. Something he very well knew, and Kayla had come to understand. "Don't mention it." he told her, ruffling her hair.
Rain trotted in, her silver streaked hair tied back in a loose pony tail. "You're up!" Ulee's relief echoed in her own voice. "I m sorry, my power's not for healing. Ulee and Jared did most of everything. I just fed you a little. By the way, you hungry?" She had been carrying a large wooden tray, laden with eggs, biscuits, 4 glasses of juice, and a giant plate of steaming brownies.

Kayla's eyes were wide as the plates. "All of this, for me?" she asked in disbelief. "I hope you plan to share some of this." she added softly.

She laughed at her hesitance. "eat as much as you like. Jared gave you some energy but you need to start producing your own. And yeah, we'll take some breakfast from here too." she took one of the glasses of orange juice, handed one to Ulee, one to Shizuko, and one to Kayla. "Dig in," she encouraged.
Ulee needed no second telling. He reached for a biscuit and put an egg ontop of it. Biting into it eagerly, he fell silent.

Kayla balanced the cup in her one hand and sipped it carefully. The taste of the juice made her grin because of how sweet it was.

Shizuko went on and on about how far and fast she had run, happily boasting of her endurance and speed despight her small size.
Ulee smiled raining her with praises, doting on her as an older brother would.
Rain gazed and laughed at her cousin. She loved him dearly, as an older brother. She had never had one, and wantedas much praise and brotherly portection from him as he could get.

Kayla watched them curiously, never having experienced so much... Love? She set down the juice to nibble on the biscuit. "You guys are silly." she giggled.
