Sam took his key out of his back pocket and unlocked the door to his apartment. He opened the door and saw his drawings all over. "Err, sorry about the mess. I'm not used to visitors." He picked up a few of the sketches and placed them on his kitchen counter. He had made his kitchen/dining room an art studio, since he had no need for a kitchen. He slipped his coat off and hung it on the hook next to the door. "Home sweet home," he said, letting out a nervous laugh.

Lydia followed him and smiled softly. "No, it's alright. It's art, so it's not a mess." She picked up a drawing and looked at it curiously.

Sam continued to pick up the pictures off the floor and furniture. All along the walls of the room were framed drawings of different people and places among Emerald Valley. Some were done with color pencils, others were painted or used pastels. Most of the drawings on the floor didn't look quite finished.

Lydia helped him, piling up the sketches neatly. "It really doesn't matter. I don't mind stepping around them." She smiled again and handed him the pile. "I doubt you'll listen, though."

"I'm just too particular, I guess," he said, picking up the last few drawings. "So, what would you like to do?"

Lydia shrugged. "I dunno. I'd love to look at your drawings, though." she said shyly.

"Well, they're everywhere, as you can see." He grinned shyly.

Lydia smiled and walked over to the first one of the wall. "I just can't believe how talented you are." she told him again.

"I only started because I got an ability from a vampire who could draw the future. But it doesn't happen very often anymore."

"It's still good. Take the compliment." Lydia said with a giggle and a smile, closing her eyes as she did.

Sam blinked a couple times. "Thank you, Lydia." He glanced at the picture she was looking at.

Lydia turned back to looked at the pictures again, leaning back to be able to get a good view. Her fingers twitched as she imagined herself drawing that well... Of course it was only imagination.

Sam furrowed his eyebrow. He never had any visitors, so it was the usual silence. But, for some reason, it unsettled him, knowing he had Lydia over but it seemed quieter than normal. He wondered why it bothered him so much, but he shook off the feeling.

Lydia moved to study the next picture silently. She looked over her shoulder at him. "If you don't want me here, I could leave." she said softly.

"No, really," he said quickly. He tried not to panic, but it didn't work very well. "I want you here."
