Lydia smiled softly again. "No need to panic." she giggled. "If your nervous, just tell me. I'll try to be less... Intimidating?"

Sam raised one eyebrow. "You think you're intimidating me?" He smiled. "I'm completely fine. No intimidation going on."

Lydia giggled and turned to face him, standing on her toes. "I can be intimidating." she told him. "I can totally make people shake in their boots." Then she stopped to think. "Unless, of course, they aren't wearing boots...."

Sam grinned. "You've already got me terrified," he joked, taking a small step back.

Layla giggled and backed up. "Yeah, you better be scared, Rawr."

Sam made a small smile and for a second, he wondered what she was thinking. Although, asking was completely out of the question. He'd die of embarrassment.

Lydia turned back to his drawings, embarrassed. She looked down at her feet and bit her lip. Had she been... having fun? She couldn't even remember the last time she'd had fun in actual reality, and not just in her fantasy world.

Sam looked at his shoes. This was the closest anyone has ever gotten to him. He didn't know how to react; he was completely speechless because of his own bravery. And he had a feeling that his sudden silence was ruining his new friendship. Then he chuckled quietly. He was uncomfortable in the most comfortable environment he had. And somehow he found it funny.

Lydia looked up, startled. She looked down again, shyly. "Did I say something funny?" she asked quietly. Sometimes she forgot things she said.

He opened his mouth to reply, but he didn't know what to say. What is wrong with me? he thought bitterly. I'm making a fool of myself and I can't stop. I have to think of something to say. But what? There was a long pause, but he didn't have anything else to say but "I'm sorry." He blurted out those two words and plopped down on the couch. "I'm being an idiot, right? I'm making you as uncomfortable as I-" He stopped. There I go again.

Lydia looked back up at him, tilting her head. "Your not so much creeping me out as much as you are worrying me." she murmured. "If I'm really that much of a bother, I'd appreciate just being told." Her voice got louder, to avoid tears. Why was she upset? What did SHE care what he thought of her?

Sam looked at her with wide eyes. "You think you're bothering me?" he asked in a surprised tone. "Actually, I thought it was the other way around." He could feel the embarrassment tingle through him. He hung his head as if he just told a terrible secret. "It's so nice to have someone else around besides the ghosts, but I don't know how to be around people anymore."

Lydia bit her lip. "Really? Well, I mean... I never usually talk to people... Just the ones in my imagination." she admitted, embarrassed herself. She giggled nervously. "I guess I just made a fool out of myself, huh?"

"That makes both of us," he added, letting out a nervous laugh. "I guess there's something different about you."

Lydia nodded. "Yeah." she said with a slight nod. "Your different, too. But in a very good way." she added shyly.
