Alyssa sat on the grass, tossing smalls stones into the pond in front of her. Her brother sat on her shoulder, in mouse form. The sun was slowly setting, making the water a shade of orange. Peace and relaxation; exactly what these two siblings enjoyed most.

Sara walked towards the water and dunked in her toes. She closed her eyes to prevent any tears from falling. She rubbed her eyes and stepped ankle deep into the water.

Alyssa saw a girl step into the water, but paid her no attention. She could tell she was a type of vampire, but also somewhat human. Benji stared at the girl curiously as Alyssa started tossing more stones into the water.

Sara felt the water ripple at her ankles and she fluttered open her eyes. She saw a girl throwing stones. She smiled politley at the girl and curtsied. "Hello." she siad. "I'm Sara."

Alyssa blinked and looked at the girl dully. Benji gave her a mousey smile and climbed onto Alyssa's head. She looked away, back to the water. She knew Sara had an ability, she could feel it in her. She wondered how she could manipulate it if they were in battle.

"What is you're name?" Sara pressed on, but her voice stayed serene and polite.

"I'm Alyssa," she said slowly, making the S's hiss on her tongue. "And he's Benjamin," She motioned up at her head by raising her eyebrows, "in case you were going to ask."

Sara smiled pleasantly. "Those are very nice names." She complimented them. "Where are you from, Alyssa?"

"I'm from here. I always have been, always will be." She tossed another stone into the water. "You're trying to hide tears, but you're having trouble with it," she observed, glancing at Sara's face.

Sara sighed. This girl read her so clearly, but it could also be the fact that she was no actress. "Yes, indeed. I am trying, and failing, at trying not to cry."

"Because of someone close to you," she guessed, and Benji's ears perked up.

Sara bit her lip and nodded. "My father, to be exact."

"I couldn't be able to guess, since I barely know you. And I don't have any experience with parent arguements."

"Me neither, really. My dad and I got along pretty well, despite our differences."
