JT sat on the floor against a wall, finishing his lunch while he read the newest book in his favorite sci-fi series. The librarian asked him why he didn't eat with the other kids in the cafeteria. She didn't seem angry, only concerned. "Why not?" was his only reply and he continued with his business. Unfortunately, he was disturbed by someone he did not expect.

Yoshi bounced into the libarary and smiled at the librarian. She saw the lone boy and made her way over to him. "Hello." she said warmly. "You look lonely. Mind if I join you?"

He did, but he shook his head no and gestured to the spot on the floor to his right.

Yoshi smiled and plopped down beside him. "My name's Yoshi." she introduced.

"JT," he replied, turning the page of his book. He tried to figure out a way to make her leave, but he knew that the chances were slim to none. "So, what's up?" he asked, slamming his book closed.

Yoshi shrugged. "Nothing really... I just didn't think anyone should be so lonely." she explained. "But I didn't mean to interupt your reading."

"That's fine. Libraries aren't for reading anyway." He felt self conscious when she said he looked lonely. Of course I'm lonely. Just look at me.

Yoshi nodded. "Not here, anyways." she giggled. "But shouldn't you be out, eating lunch with your friends?"

JT sighed. "I don't really have any. I wouldn't call them friends, anyway. Don't think I need 'em." He traces the letters on the book cover. "Guess they don't need me either."

Yoshi looked up at him, almost heart broken. And as over dramatic as she was, she started to cry for him, hugging him tightly. "How could you say that? Everyone needs friends!" she exclaimed between her tears.

His eyes bugged as she gripped him. He felt his shoulder getting wet from her tears and he rolled his eyes. Teenage girls. He shrugged gently to be careful not to break her nose. "People don't really stick with me. And when they do, something happens and they have to leave." He thought of Jordyn and Peter.

Yoshi gripped his arm and her eyes widened, all sparkly and child-like. "I'll be your friend!" she shouted, holding onto him tighter. "And I won't ever leave!"

You say that now... he thought. He patted her shoulder as he saw the librarian glaring at them. "Thanks," he said awkwardly.

But before long, she was done crying, and now she was smiling. Soon, she was talking rapid fire. "Well, since your my friend now, I have to introduce you to everyone. Everyone's really nice here. And-" Anything after that was not understandable. It was like gibberish.
